The PIKO model of the DB E 18 is the first consistently prototypical large series model of this series on a scale of 1:160. The prototypical roof equipment, the pantographs typical of DB locomotives and the insulators in the finest design are particularly noteworthy. All of the roof lines were made of metal. The fine wheel sets with replica suspension pots are an absolute novelty on a scale of 1:160. The lamps appear in prototypical shape and size. The powerful motor, equipped with two large flywheels, ensures the problem-free transportation of heavy express trains by driving four axles, even in the model. In addition, two wheels have been fitted with traction tires in a diagonal arrangement. The model has a modern PluX16 interface for easy retrofitting of a digital decoder.
