The Stearman Kaydet was the standard aircraft used by the US Army and Navy for basic flying training during the Second World War. Thousands of American and also Allied pilots were trained on this type of aircraft. It was nicknamed the Yellow Peril.
The UH-1D is the most built helicopter in the western world with over 7000 built machines. It has an excellent reputation, is considered to be one of the safest aircraft and can also carry bulky loads through two large sliding doors on the side. The German Air Force uses its UH-1D primarily for SAR missions in order to comply with international safety obligations.
